About The Treatment

You may be wondering what it is. Well, gastritis is generally the inflammation of the stomach lining. It may occur for a short period of time or may be for long duration. It’s not chronic as it may exceed lastly up to five six days. Yet it can occur again and again for short intervals of time.

You may be wondering what are the symptoms associated with gastritis. It may or may not have symptoms. Some people show no symptoms yet some of the symptoms are upper or central abdominal pain. This pain may be dull, vague, burning, aching, gnawing, sore or sharp too. This pain may occur anywhere from upper left portion of the abdomen around the back part. Some people may also have nausea, vomiting, belching, bloating, early satiety, loss of appetite and unexplainable weight loss. Gastritis can also occur after some major surgery or severe infections. People who had gone through weight loss surgery can also suffer from it.

Now how can this be diagnosed? Well diagnosis generally depend upon the symptoms seen in the patient. Yet it can be diagnosed by blood tests, urine analysis, stool sample, x-ray, ECGs, endoscopy and stomach biopsy. Not that it is diagnosed, treatment should also be there. For mild to medium gastritis antacids are the solution. But if antacids fails to provide relief then medications are the only way. Medication include h2 blockers and proton pump inhibitors. Gastritis is a very common among people these days because of the consumption of fatty foods. It can be prevented by avoiding such kind of food.
